Does pool equipment need a safety switch?
Yes. Every pool and spa circuit must be RCD protected, and the equipment needs weatherproof isolation you can reach.
What is equipotential bonding?
Connecting the metal parts around the pool, such as fencing, ladders and reinforcing, so they sit at the same electrical potential. It prevents a voltage difference that could shock someone in the water.
Can you connect my spa?

Can I run the pool pump from a power point?
No. Pool equipment needs its own protected circuit and weatherproof outlets or hardwiring. An extension lead over the fence is a hazard and fails inspection.
