Terms of Service

These terms apply to electrical work carried out by Electrikell Qld Pty Ltd (ABN 42 625 957 084), trading as Electrikell Qld, for customers in Queensland. By accepting a quote or booking a job you agree to them. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
1. Quotes and estimates
- Quotes are issued through ServiceM8 and are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.
- A quote covers the work described in it. Anything extra is a variation.
- Fault finding and emergency call-outs are charged as a call-out fee plus time and materials, agreed by phone before attendance.
- Prices include GST unless marked otherwise.
2. Variations
If we find something on site that changes the job (for example, an unsafe switchboard, damaged wiring or asbestos), we stop, explain it, and give you a price before doing anything extra. You can accept or decline. Work needed to make an installation safe under the Queensland Electrical Safety Act may be required before we can leave the site live.
3. Bookings, access and cancellations
- You need to give us access to the switchboard, meter box, roof space and work areas, and let us know about pets, asbestos or other hazards.
- If a booked job cannot go ahead because access is not available, a call-out fee may apply.
- Please give at least 24 hours notice to cancel or move a booking.
4. Payment
- Invoices are issued through Xero on completion. Payment is due within 7 days unless the invoice says otherwise.
- Larger projects may require a deposit before materials are ordered, set out in the quote.
- Accepted payment methods: bank transfer or card.
- Overdue accounts may incur reasonable recovery costs.
5. Materials and ownership
Materials remain our property until paid for in full. Fittings you supply are installed at your risk; we cannot warrant a product we did not supply, but our workmanship on the installation is still covered.
6. Certificates and compliance
All work is carried out by a licensed electrical contractor to AS/NZS 3000 and Queensland requirements. Where required, you receive a certificate of test. Keep it. We lodge any paperwork Ergon Energy requires for connections and metering.
7. Workmanship guarantee and consumer guarantees
Every job we do is backed by our workmanship guarantee. If something we installed or repaired fails because of our work, we come back and make it right at no charge. This guarantee is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, which cannot be excluded.
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service you are entitled to cancel your service contract with us and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If the failure does not amount to a major failure you are entitled to have problems with the service rectified in a reasonable time and, if this is not done, to cancel your contract and obtain a refund for the unused portion of the contract. Manufacturer warranties on products apply in addition.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss caused by pre-existing faults we were not engaged to fix, by work done by others, by network faults on the Ergon side of the meter, or by events outside our control. This does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

10. Disputes and law
If something is wrong, tell us and we will fix it. These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland. Complaints about electrical safety can also be made to the Electrical Safety Office Queensland.
